Ward Zoning and Planning Committee Meeting: 12/01/04

WARD UPDATE:

Mary Ann Smith presided. She gave a brief ward update:

December 1st is World AIDS Day. Alderman Smith applauded the Chicago community leaders for their efforts in the fight against AIDS. The Board of Education met earlier in the week and conducted another public hearing regarding the Naval Academy at Senn High School. The Board of Education will vote on December 15, 2004. The Broadway Re-zoning study is progressing and will be complete in January, 2005. The Clark St. visioning committee is beginning their process with the community to determine what types of buildings should exist.

There was one proposal regarding 5523-25 N. Broadway. Pasteur's owner applied to construct a new building, with the restaurant on the first floor and 10 condominium units above. The motion was approved by a vote of 19-1.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 26, 2005.
