Greg Harris LetterSubject: Health & Sanitation Enforcement Meeting, 5/3/04 From Greg Harris, Chief of Staff, 48th Ward Alderman's Office: Dear Friends, Due to an increasing number of complaints about sanitation issues received by the Alderman's Office and the Mayor, we are holding a very important meeting for business, restaurant and building owners in the Argyle Street area. We are asking your assistance to get this message out to all business restaurant and building owners on Broadway and Sheridan from Lawrence to Foster, and on Argyle between Broadway and Sheridan. A meeting notice and flier is attached (see excerpt) that you may forward or copy. At this meeting representatives of the City's Streets and Sanitation, Public Health, Revenue, CAPS and Police will be present. They will describe services they provide and will review many important ordinances, licensing and permitting requirements that businesses must follow. All businesses in the area should be prepared to meet appropriate inspections by the City, and this meeting is to give owners a chance to ask any questions they may have and receive any assistance that they need in complying. In the weeks and months after the meeting, City Inspectors will regularly be in the area guaranteeing compliance. Help us help our business community to be prepared!!! If you have any questions, or need further assistance, please email me or call me at 312 744-6860. (ed.: Send mail via ernie@masmith48.org) |
