Meeting began at
6:30pm.
Motion was passed to
approve previous meeting’s notes
Jennifer began the
meeting with a summary of park events:
-
The outdoor play
lot lights were out for a few days and repaired. There apparently
was a live wire wrapped around the sunken portion of a pole and was
causing a short.
-
There was a phone
and internet outage that was repaired by AT&T. seems that a line
installed in 1920 at Argyle was used to connect the field house and
that line had to be repaired / replaced to reconnect telephone and
internet service.
-
Spring programs
begin next week. Jennifer and Arnie will be at South Shore Cultural
Center for program training.
-
Vanessa had a baby
boy on 3/17/11. 7lbs 2 oz. MPAC congratulates Vanessa and her family
on the new addition.

at Curie H.S. (Archer & Pulaski) on 3/26th.

-
Financial,
assistance is available for those children at public schools who now
receive free or reduced cost lunch service. Parents need to show on
school letterhead their child’s participation in these lunch
programs and can receive a 50% in summer program rate.
-
There is also a
payment plan option for parents—50% down on registration day
and the remaining money due 2 weeks prior to the start of camp.
-
There is no cap on
the number of children per family, there is however a limited amount
of dollars provided by the Park District for this program. Please
look for a link on the park website to the Financial Assistance
Program.
-
More information
on these assistance programs is available at the front desk of the
field house.
Joe Trendl:

your earliest convenience.

-
A vote was taken
to and approved for officer elections to be held at the May 2011

-
A brief discussion
was held about possibly changing our meeting day from Tuesday to
Saturday, but was quashed as there were too many conflicts amongst
our council members.
-
We’re
continuing to look for ideas to increase membership.
Meeting adjourned at
7:15pm
